This Sparkling Cranberry Kombucha Mocktail lets you sip the night away and still feel your best the next morning

‘Tis the season for cocktail parties
I don’t know about you, but the roughly 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve on my social calendar gets packed with invites for cocktail parties, happy hours and work-related functions each year. Which is great because it means spending time with some really great people that I don’t get to see as often as I’d like – but it also means there are a lot more occasions for imbibing in adult beverages.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to kick back and celebrate with a glass of wine or a cocktail once a week but I have a few rules for myself: 1) I won’t be driving, 2) I don’t have CrossFit the next day and 3) I feel generally ‘well’ and not on the verge of coming down with a cold or experiencing a flare of my autoimmune disease. So with all these drinking occasions on the calendar I often find myself needing a non-alcoholic version to sip and enjoy as a I make merry.
And so was born the Sparkling Cranberry Kombucha Mocktail. My socially-appropriate, low-sugar, probiotic-rich and seriously festive alternative to boozy drinks this holiday season.
Since there’s bound to be enough sugar to sink a battleship at most parties, I opted to keep this mocktail low in sugar by using 100% cranberry juice and original LIVE kombucha. I then combined two of my favorite flavors – ginger and rosemary – for an unexpectedly amazing flavor twist. And a super festive look!

If ginger is yo’ thang than go ahead and substitute Sparkling Ginger LIVE with the original flavor. Mocktails are just as cool as cocktails
With this snazzy glass of cranberry kombucha goodness in hand you’ll look cooler than ever – and you’ll be less likely to do something you might regret later. Besides that, they’re also great for guests who are pregnant or otherwise abstain from alcohol but who still want something fun and fizzy to sip. My kids love them and they love making them too. Piper’s favorite part is muddling the ginger with the rosemary because she gets to smash it to bits with a wooden spoon (you can use a muddler but she prefers a more organic 5-year-old approach to mixology) and Lily loves to garnish and serve (because she’s my little hostess with the most-ess).
Serve up some holiday cheer everyone will enjoy with these Sparkling Cranberry Kombucha Mocktails
- 1 inch slice of fresh ginger, thinly sliced, plus more for garnish
- 1 large sprig fresh rosemary, plus more for garnish
- ½ cup 100% cranberry juice
- 2 12-ounce bottles LIVE Kombucha (Original or Ginger) *May substitute kombucha of choice
- Fresh cranberries, rosemary sprigs and thinly sliced ginger for garnish
- Fill 4 double old-fashioned glasses with ice and set aside.
- In a pitcher or quart-sized mason jar, muddle sliced ginger and rosemary together using the end of a wooden spoon or a muddler if you have one.
- Add cranberry juice and kombucha, stir gently to combine.
- Pour into ice-filled glasses (using a strainer, if necessary) and garnish with sprigs of rosemary, a slice of fresh ginger and a few cranberries before serving.
