How many people are your Meal Plans written for?
We like simple math so we’ve written our Meal Plans, Grocery Lists, Prep Guides and Recipes to serve 4 people. If you’re a party of two, simply halve the quantities on the grocery lists and recipes.
Are the Meal Plans gluten-free?
Yes. The Real Food meal plans are all gluten-free and paleo-friendly (see “What is Paleo?” question below). The Real Food meal plan includes gluten-free grains in some of the recipes. So if you’re gluten-free, no worries. We’ve got you covered.
What is “Paleo”?
We’re glad you asked! The term “paleo” refers to the ‘paleolithic diet’ based on the principles of no grain, no dairy, no soy, no refined sugars and no legumes or beans.
Around here, we use the term ‘Paleo’ or ‘Grain-free’ to refer to a more highly-customized version of the Paleo diet that allows you to choose the foods that best serve your body — rather than trying to follow a set of strict guidelines. We don’t judge so do what’s best for you.
Wait, no grains? Where will I get my carbs from?
That’s right. Our Paleo meal plans are created to be free of all grains. Those following this eating style get their carbs from starchy tubers, fruits, vegetables and limited amounts of natural sweeteners. If you’re into grains we’ve designed the Real Food meal plan just for you.
Will I lose weight with your Meal Plans?
Our meal plans are not specifically geared toward weight loss, however, they are balanced and higher in fiber and lower in sugar than the Standard American Diet so many people do find them to be a helpful for managing their weight and supporting overall health. We do include a portion range and optional snacks to meet a variety of needs so if it’s weight loss you may want to choose portions on the lower end of the ranges and limit snacking (but never to the point of depriving yourself). Our dietitians, Jessica and Stacie, do offer private coaching services to help you create a customized plan for weight loss if simply following the plan as written isn’t enough.
