Snacks with benefits: Our 3-Ingredient Smoothie Bowl is the perfect little 5-minute sweet treat!
You know those times when you just want a little snack because your dinner was too small? Or maybe you need something quick and nourishing to feed your kids as they come tumbling in the front door after a long day at school?
If you’re anything like me, then you’re most likely looking for something that’s quick and easy to make and makes use of what you’ve got on hand. Make it quick, make it easy and make it with real food ingredients that you can pronounce while limiting the amount of added sugars.
Enter the itty-bitty 3-Ingredient Smoothie Bowl
I looooove checking out all of those giant, fully-loaded, over-the-top smoothie bowls on social media but I can’t help but cringe when I think about how much added sugar (to be fair, it’s usually from fruit or honey) is in those things. I’d crash and burn in a matter of hours if I ate that and I know my kids would go down even faster and harder given their size.
No, I’m not a smoothie bowl hater. Please don’t email me to defend yourselves if you start your day with a smoothie bowl – if it works for you, awesome. I just know that it does not work for me. That said, I’m more a lover of the practical-sized smoothie bowl – designed to be a way to sneak in a few extra nutrients while still being a ‘fun food’. So this petite 3-ingredient smoothie bowl cup is totally my jam. Especially when it takes just 5 minutes to prepare and it’s topped with these crunchy little squares of nut and seed goodness I recently discovered.
These little bits of sweet, crunchy goodness are what’s inside a bag of Foodie Fuel and they’re what make this little bowl of blended fruit and yogurt so much more than just a little bowl of blended fruit and yogurt.
Available in 4 flavors – Swiss Chocolate, Coconut Vanilla, Cinnamon Ginger and Butter toffee – Foodie Fuel Snacks are packed with slow-burning carbs, healthy fats, fiber and organic and non-GMO ingredients these make an irresistible topping for yogurt and smoothies. You can also use them to mix up a bunch of trail mixes for weekend adventures like our friend Dana from Real Food with Dana does here.
Need a recipe?
Maybe you do and maybe you don’t need a recipe – I’ve included one in this post anyways to show you how much fruit and yogurt I use for one serving. Of course, you can double it or triple it – use whatever frozen fruit you have on hand and top it however you choose (though I HIGHLY recommend you get your hands on some of this Foodie Fuel!)
So what do you say you and I start an itty-bitty 3-ingredient smoothie bowl craze?

Love your perspective of to eat their own when it comes to smoothie bowls! Personally, I see people blending straight fruit, dates, yogurt, etc, and I know the sugar crash would kill me. I’d rather keep it less sugary with frozen zucchini and other greens! Nothing better than a personalized smoothie bowl 😉
Thanks, Casey!
I love a good green smoothie, too – spinach, lime, celery, green apple and fresh parsley and mint are my go-to. Mmmmmmm!
Love this! Why waste your money on buying a smoothie when you can make your own at home? Thanks for sharing!
Isn’t that the truth?! 🙂
Such a sweet idea!
Thanks, Karen!
