Something didn’t feel right.
As many of you know, Stacie and I joined forces and launched our first joint venture website and business, Simply Nourished Meal Plans, just 3 short months ago. Just 3 months ago. It was a monumental effort and we learned a lot of things along the way. One of which was that the site didn’t make our hearts sing. It was a bit clunky and kinda felt like a t-shirt worn backwards. It worked but something wasn’t quite right.
So with over 1,000 miles between us, we sat down with a cup of coffee and had a long conversation and heartfelt strategy session over the phone one Saturday morning. We asked ourselves, “What do we really want?” Surprisingly, the answers came easily and from the heart on both ends of the line.
We wanted to lean into our shared passion for real food and creating recipes that nourish the body but don’t make you a slave to your kitchen. Being Registered Dietitian Nutritionists we also wanted to share our expertise and knowledge about nutrition and how food and lifestyle can literally make or break you when it comes to your health and overall wellbeing. Change was inevitable and it was both scary and thrilling at the same time.
So we pulled the plug and started over.
We knew that having spent a chunk of change on the first site that we’d need to bootstrap on this one. We taught ourselves web design and basic coding and in just 3 weeks we created the site you’re now looking at. It was a whirlwind fueled by passion and love for our work as dietitians and honestly, because it felt so right, it hardly seemed like work. We’d found the sweet spot that didn’t exist with the old site. Work no longer felt like work because we listened to our hearts and embraced our creative sides.
We wanted a place to share what we love in the kitchen and in life. We wanted to create a place you’ll visit time and time again. We wanted to be the people behind Simply Nourished, not a product. We think this site beautifully captures the best of both of us and to say that we are proud to be sharing this new site with you is a gross understatement. We’re ecstatic!

As the dust settles this week we’ll return to our regular weekly recipe posts and Power Hour Meal Preps and begin diving head first into several new projects – including the return of our new and improved monthly meal plan membership program and a 7-day detox program to help you get back on track after the holidays.

In this time of reflection and giving thanks, we want to extend our most heartfelt ‘welcome’ to you and express our gratitude for the people in our lives who’ve encouraged us to follow our hearts and make this dream a reality. We finally feel at home here and are honored to have you here with us.
